um. driving around on drag radials is pointless. it accomplishes nothing except a dent in the wallet and showing off. a set of nice wide traction oriented tires would be much better for the street.

uh huh....

The Kumho MX is good too, dry traction should be similar to the Azenis, but probably much better in the rain.

Ok guys ... I know pretty much nothing about tires ...

My '88 SE has the original phone dial mags with 185/70R14 tires on them. I'm looking into getting myself a set of Falken AZENIS RT-215 but the closest fit they've got is 195/60R14. Would those fit on my mags and is it recommendable to run this size tire with my mags?

Thanks

Yes, I run Falken Azenis sports 195/60/14 on the stock phone dials for autocross.. they work great. The phone dials are tiny but you can't beat the weight of around 13 pounds each and running a tire of 195/60/14 gives you a lower gear ratio for better acceleration over stock. With my current suspension set up, I was 4 seconds behind the modified class guys at the last autox event. They also had a skidpad set up at the last event and I'm telling you, these tires stick like a mofo considering they're not R compound. If you're getting Falkens, just get the Azenis Sports, their dirt cheap in this size.
