I want to but some new stikier tires for my FC. But what to get?

what has the best traction to durability?

What will grip in all weather?

What are the good deals?

I want to get some on my stock '88 Turbo II wheels. I also spoke to a fellow rotor-head around here and he he told me my rims are great because they are stronger than other rx-7 rims when driven hard. Is this true?

What would you recommend?

falken azenis sports. not the drift azenis tires, but the ones wiit the big funny looking tread patches. they grip like a mofo...

i dunno what he means by stronger when driven hard, that only matters as far is damaging the wheels when hitting stuff or bending them in pot holes etc. Most stock rims won't bend unless the pot hole is pretty damn big or you drive into a curb or something.

I'm run S03s for a while, i like them, but they are pricey. I wouldn't be speaking from experience with anything else, i had nitto 555s and hated them.

How much are you lookign to spend? I have Bridgestone Potenza RE750's, 225 50 16 on S5 turbo wheels, and they are amazing. Final cost after mounting and balancing, and the cost of tires and shipping from tirerack came to just under $600. If youre on more of a budget, the ES100's are very good for the price. I had Dunlop Sport SP8000's before, and they were good tires, but not as grippy as the potenzas. Id like to drive on the new Dunlop FM901's, theyre supposed to be pretty good. And Azenis are sticky and cheap, but they have limited sizes.

I've got an SE, and the stock 14" wheels. Falken Azenis sports are the best for the money, just over 330 including mount and balance

Uuuuuumh Potenzas sound good. How do they do in wet conditions?

How much are the Azenis? and where can I get them?

What do you guys think of Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tires?

Or the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW ?

Thanks for the replys.

BTW I am looking to spend about 500-600.

The potenzas are GREAT in the rain. Best rain tire Ive ever driven on. Much better in the rain than Azenis. Much better treadwear also.

I got mine at the local Hibbdon tires plus. They were special order, but didnt cost any extra. Most places should be able to order them for you. They were about 52 apiece, but you've got bigger wheels, so expect to pay more.

ambassador_josh 06-06-2004 04:00 PM

oh, yeah, the azenis SUCK in the rain and snow

goodyear gs-d3 are kick ass tires...... i have not lost traction in the wet, or in the dry with them
