Is this possible, and what would be the benefits or disadvantages of having a lower compression rotor? Anyone's .02 is welcome....

Its possible.

I belive the lower compression will make a little less power but will have more room for mistakes while tuning.

Yes it possible but you need the front and rear counterweights to balance the wieght of the heavier rotors... And the flywheel I believe. You can boost higher safer on lower comp rotors.

I did this to my engine. You'll have 20 hp less but you can get that no problem with boost. Plus you can run more boost on pump gas. The front has it's own counter weight the rear is on the flywheel. I have no complaints with my s4 rotors. If possible though I'd go with the s5 rotors.

I have an s5 rotor that is still in pretty good condition that I can sell you.

rmaiersg-

thanks, but i dont need any rotors... I just have to get my 89 motor rebuilt and was thinking about maybe using S4 rotors from my 87 TII, but not sure if it was worth it.

pros: you can run 15psi on the stock ecu and pump fuel

cons: it lags more

if yer planning on going big boost or big turbo in the future.. use th s4 rotors.. the lower compression allows for the increase in boost.
