Thinking about....
#1
Hey all, new to this forum, but I am an avid member of AF, I was just wondering if anyone could help me out with a quick question.
My buddy has a 1986 RX7, NA, 5 Speed. He wanted to just throw an aftermarket turbo kit on it. I told him not to, that he would cook his motor. I also Suggested maybe a Supercharger kit for it.
Does anyone know anything about this? WHat it would Cost? What kind of numbers he would produce? Could it take me NA to TII swapped 86?
Any help and information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Moe

well the cool thing is that there is a facotory turbo car, and everything swaps right over, but you do need a lot of stuff to do the swap right. its easier just to find a turbo car. next would be a turbo engine/trans/rear/ecu electrics. its prolly hardest to turbo the na drivetrain (same cost, most work, least reliable, possibly)

Well, thanks for the reply guys.
Here's where we stand, we don't see much for SC 7's here in Alberta, and we have never even seen one. That's why we are thinking about SCing his car.
Money is not too much of an issue.
Is there much of a difference in the 5 -12 inch supercharger? As far as numbers are concerend?
Also, here in red deer it's hard to find any 7's and the ones we do find are usually beat to hell and back. The only place we have been able to locate that has any TII parts or cars, is RX7 Specialties in Calgary.
Thanks again for any help and information.
