Just a question, might've been asked before, but a friend of mine asked me to post this....



Is it possible to swap the taillight housings(horizontal bar-type, dunno the exact name for it >_<) on a 2nd gen RX-7 with the more recognizable circular taillights?(such as on a '91 FC3S).



Just curious, he doesn't care much for the ones on his right now and wondered if it was possible to swap.

 

Yes.

 

it is possible but you will need the center section as well, for the license plate, you can get these off the convertible models or possibly find the whole kit on E-bay. Just swapping the tailights will not work because of the centersection, it is different

Just to aid in some confusion in case anybody else reads this post later on, you CAN do the conversion with OUT the center section, it just requires cutting the small metal tabs on the stock s4 center section..not hard at all, I did it in like 5min w/ a hammer and flathead screwdriver...
