Hello everyone...

I have only seen a few TRUST/Greddy FMIC conversion kits for the turbo II FC...and they are HORRENDOUSLY EXPENSIVE!!! On ebay, i have found some very nice looking, very large intercoolers. If i was to purchase a generic FMIC...how difficult is finding piping or having them made? Could i just buy aluminum piping and have a shop bend it to fit???

someone HELP ME!!!

Thanks a lot

-Jeff

Yes, you can buy the core and then have a shop bend some piping for you..HOWEVER, I'd buy a good core such as spearco, apexi or xs engineering...don't skimp on intercooling...

yeah make sure you look at core thickness, YOu might see some intercooler on ebay for cheap and it looks huge, but might only be a inch and a half thick with maybe 2 inch inlet and outlet. All the companies rotaryman said are great, but apexi is a little more rare than spearco and xs when searchin ebay.

by the time you make the pipes, buy the core and the ic couplers, and make a throttle body adaptor you are like $100 away from a greddy kit.

that being said i dont have a complete kit on my car, just the greddy core

I was talking with a friend about this tonight we might get a mandrel bender. If we do a fmic kit is the first thing I am going to work on.

i've always been told it'd probably be around the area of 500-600 for a custom setup.

Besides, with our cars just about anything is gonna be ebtter than the stock TMIC.

HMM, you and your friends going to chip in a few thousand apiece to buy a mandrel bender? uh-huh

My friend's got one at his shop, they use it to make their own custom exhausts and stuff ... Is that what you guys are talking about? If you feel like coming up to Montreal I guess he would let you use it ...

for a small fee of course LOL

If you dont have access to a tig your kinda at the mercy of their prices. But if you do you can make a way better kit for less than half of the price. Most kits have miles of pipe and screwy angles to be able to use on a stock setup. I have a griffin core in mine and am very happy. Paid $150 for the core.
