Yeah lead work is nice.. cuz you can keep the car all metal baby.. There is a porsche guy in my Body Shop class and he was telling me that people used to praise how perfect the gaps on the old hand built porsche speedsters would be.. but in reality the assembly line guys would just stick a thin piece of wood in the gap which was way off and fill the rest with lead, then the remove the wood and it would look like a perfect gap..

Yeah the porsche guy was telling me about stufflike that too.. he said they had a buff germad due on a creeper, they would put the tranny on his chest then he would slide under and lift it into place.. heheh..

thats the way they used to do it, anything that was around
before they came up with all these low volotile organic compound
laws was good. The best paint jobs in the world were the old laquer paint
jobs, hell they even rubbed them out by hand. Nowadays they use
fancy glue for panel bonding, and 3M admits to shifting on panel bonds
such as 1/4 panels. People never had problems with lead shifting, or rusting for that matter.
Leaded gas was the best too, sure we might all be growing fins out
of our backs and dying of lead poisoning, but at least our cars will
look and run good!

Just cut and rivet a piece of lexan in there with some clear silicone to seal.. worked great for me on a prev race car project except it was hot as hell since I didn't tint the bitch.
