I'd go for selling the vert and buying a Turbo II for less money.

Repeat after me: The hold button helps alot to break my tranny. |
A Automatic does have more power loses than a Manual, but they can be decent. (Personally I hate them) but they do allow the motor to be working in it's power band. Modern Auto's with a full lock torque converter get nearly the same mileage as a manual too.
I'm sure your Vert is HEAVY, and the bug is light. Your Vert at best has 160 HP. What you need is MORE power. I wouldn't worry about the Automatic thing. Some of the fastest bracket racers use automatics for their consistancy |
The.. hold.. button.. helps.. alot.. to.. break.. my.. tranny.. :clown:

Save your money, keep the vert... When you need to rebuild the engine have the car converted to stick. Also make sure that you get a street-ported engine. The difference will be night and day and you'll have one of the best looking 2nd-gen models around. I'm in canada and there is a shop near-by that did an auto-manual conversion on an FB, for fairly cheap. I'm sure you could find a shop near you to do the same... vert's look amazing. KEEP IT
