Stock Boost Controller
#1
Is there any way to manipulate or adjust the solenoid on a series 5 EBC to make it work like say a Profec B? I know a Haltech can control it, but how well do you think it would keep consistant boost through the gears? With the aftermarket ECU upgrades, like RTek/Corksport/KnightSport etc. do they adjust the stock controller at all. Considering a solenoid is pretty much a solenoid; is all the cost in an aftermarket EBC in the interface or are there other benefits to an aftermarket unit?

rtek is for s4 only
not really sure how the EBC on the s5 works but my best guess is that its very simple, and would probably be hard to make adjustable. not positive of that though.
Is it in the ECU or seperate?
Maybe you could add some resistors.....and a **** of somesort.

we've played with these a little. the stock boost solenoids are on the small side, they can only raise the boost about 2-4psi, if you need more than that you can use some of the bigger obd2 vapor solenoids, if you find the right one they plug right in.
as far as making it adjustable or running the thing you're on your own, for an fc where the boost is pretty stable it would be easier to tune it by the solenoid size.
