Ok. so it's been 2 weeks. I got a new Battery (optima Deep Cell) New altenator... regular series 4 altenator... replaced all chassis to engine grounds. replaced all major wires going and coming from the Alt. to the batt.

I've replaced almost everything that makes up the charging system. And what does my car do to me tonight after work? Dead battery. I've got a bad habit of checking everything before i turn car off. Radio.. Lights (even though it was daylight) nothing stays on in my car. WTF! is wrong with my electrical charging system... it's getting to the point where i'm getting pist at my car. Please guys, some help would be great.

i know how you feel i have a similar discrepency with my car. Put a new battery and am trying to determine if my alternator is going. ANd what alternator would be a good replacement. Autozone (my job) sells a duralast alternator with a lifetime warranty and what not but i know i will be replacing that **** every year lol. So i dunno can i put a s5 alt in my s4. I know the plugs are different but can it be done without damaging the cars electrical system in any way??

Thankz Jazer

It's an improvement. I think the S5 alt is rated at least 10 amps higher. Another consideration is getting an FD alt. A guy on the other forum is selling them with everything you need - pulley, plug for S4s, etc. He says they are testing very high before he ships them, well over 120 amps.
