i got out to my car at lunch this afternoon, won't start. Just cranks and cranks, hmmm, check the fuses, everything is good, then i realize that the fuel pump isn't coming on when i turn the key to on. SOOOOOO.....i've had to with all these electric problems, in a fit of purely over emotional rage i decided to solve everything i can all at once in one blast. I've decided to completely remove the improperly installed circa 1994 viper alarm that doesn't work and rewire the whole car, put in a new logicon, stereo etc all before saturday for the rx7 bbq. Openned the door panel found a power window control module and aftermarket power door lock actuator. This is probably why my drivers side lock is broken, tomorrow i'll finish removing all the crap wiring and mystery relays. I'll take a picture of the mess under the dash cuz you guys should really see this. Worst **** i've ever seen. Sorry just had to vent in order to justify pulling my console apart and seeing the already broken plastic parts crumble in my hands like something out of an indiana jones movie.

Damn dude. Sounds like a nightmare. I hate wiring and I think I might do the same thing. Ditch as many junk wires as I can

Good luck!

Every time I get under the dash I want to rip everything out and redo all of it myself...but that's no fun, so I don't.

I found some interesting stuff under the dash too. At some point in the history of my rx7 it had a crazy stereo in it, i found bosch relays out the *** and a bunch of switches under the ash tray for amps and stuff i imagine. Also i had the viper alarm with the optional remote controlled windows and locks and crap. SOOOOO, now the windows are back to stock and they actually work and the alarm is all but removed. Under my dash is way way cleaner, and i still haven't gotten around to rewiring the fuel pump but i'll do that tomorrow i hope. I need to redo some of the wiring for all my gauges and stuff and the tach cuz it was all some how routed into the alarm wiring (don't ask). My turbo timer still works though, amazingly.

messy wires, this is after i cut like 40 zip ties that were holding it randomly above the pedals...slightly above

empty, minus stereo and logicon

what got ripped out
