I STARTED MY 88 T2 TO LET IT WARM UP. AFTER ABOUT 5MIN IT STARTED TO BLOW BLUE/WHITE SMOKE FROM THE TAIL PIPES AND SMOKE COMMING FROM MY TURBO AREA. I SHUT THE CAR OFF TO CHECK THE OIL AND I FOUND WHITE RESIDUE ON THE DIP STICK. THE OIL WAS LOW SO I TOPPED IT UP. MY COOLANT WAS GOOD AND THE CAR WAS RUNNING FINE NOT ROUGH AT ALL. ONCE I TOPPED UP THE OIL AND RAN IT FOR A WHILE THE SMOKE FROM THE TAIL PIPES STOPPED, BUT IT WAS STILL SMOKING FROM THE TURBO. I TOOK IT FOR A DRIVE TO SEE IF THE TURBO WAS STILL WORKING, AND IT WAS JUST FINE. AFTER DRIVING IT FOR A GOOD HALF HOUR OR SO THE SMOKE WAS GONE. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS MIGHT HAVE BEEN???

possibly oil seals going on the turbo.... could be a ton of different things though..........

I Think the white goop is kinda normal. I get alot sometimes under my oil cap. :squirt:

yah the white goop is condensation not burning off all the way, it means change your oil, or let the car warm up longer

That is correct. You need to worry when your oil starts looking like a mocha cappucino.

its almost physically impossible for a rotary to mix the oil and coolant like a piston engine

if you are mixing oil and water......rotor housing is cracked..bye bye motor
