For most stylistic things in life that I don't like, I can see how other people do like them. Like pickles, I don't like pickles, but I can see how someone might like them.



When it comes to "sleepy eyes" on an FC, I just can't understand how anybody thinks they look good. If there's a modification where they only pop up halfway but with new lights (like small round ones), I like that. But not with stock lights, it's just not good.

Make your car look high.

i got sleepy eyes with H.I.Ds...its great for night driving and cops dont fuk with me.

I would vote yes only if you knew why they actually started doing it and that was why you wanted to do it.



If you just want to do it because it looks cool on everyone elses car, then I'd have to say no.

im not asking to see if i want to do it or not..i used to but night driving got bad. its just a simple opinion/ poll im taking to wonder who is doing it. i do agree that the 240's look sexy with the sleepy headlights, on forumla D i saw one and was like wow, if the rx7 could look that good with it...





where did you find HID's for your FC? i've been looking for them. i think HID's are great, my friend has em on his mazda 6 and i've never seen such good looking lights. and the only reason i stopped the sleepy eyes is because of the vision..so i guess if hid's would clear the road a little more it'd solve that problem. lemme know where you found those HID's at. thanks

Those are just bulb conversions, H4 is just a style of BULB

you can buy a h4 hid converson kit, because they don't sell sealed beam hid bulbs if you want hid you need to do it. but i just cheapped oput and bought the Silverstars, work freaking awesome.

my lights are always up, my car is broken, but it adds to the sleeper look and no one wants to steal from me

It originated with drifters who reallized that a sideways car doesn't get nearly as much air in through the grill, so the idea is for the headlights to act like little scoops to help move air through the radiator and engine compartment.



Now, it's just a fad.

I like the sleepy lights cuz in my opinion they make my car look lower..



but mainly because i hate seeing the damn big ass light covers in the way while i drive..

they always looked ok on everyone else's car, but never on mine, i dunno why

only do it if you're gunna do it the right way and you're not gunna get into an accident when you are driving at night. also dont have it looking sleepy during the daytime, then your car just looks like its broken

uhhh...i got H4 HIDs...thank you! not some measly bulb kit. i took the bulbs that came with the kit out and put in some HIDs from an escalade.

I think they look good on some cars, and only with other exterior modifications. They look stupid on any car that has a stock exterior. If the car has drift body work, or cool paint, or at least some sweet wheels, I think it can be pulled off. I don't really think they look good winking on any 2nd gen RX7s, myself.

If you wanna do it, do it.

Just don't do that mod where you press a switch, and the lights randomly flip around. (I looked over at this guys AE86 corolla and he tried to impress me with it, when I was in a jeep with the windshield down)

I suppose if you still want to do it, there is a way that doesn't screw up the useability. I had my FD set-up for a while where I could stop the lights whereever I wanted, yet still have full function when I needed it.



All I did was pull the dash and get the switch that let you put the lights up without them being on. I tested each wire until I found out which one powered the motor's up signal. Cut it, wired in a momentary switch that I mounted down on the hood release cover (just so it would be out of the way). So the lights would work normally when I turned them on, but when I pushed the switch that put them up when off, I could just tap the added momentary switch until they were as high as I wanted. Much better than just pulling the fuse or whatever, and trying to drive with crappy lighting at night.

The only way to properly install HID's into a sealed beam is to somehow integrate a HID projector into the housing.

I think he means he bought the plastic h6054 housing that takes an H4 Bulb, and got an H4 HID kit..



and Yes, if he did not buy a projector housing for HIDs or a Sealed beam conversion specifically made for HID lighting he is just shooting some bright ass light all over the place.. its not truly an HID conversion because the light is not being directed properly, even though it seems brighter..

they look alright but better on a nissan 240sx.

i think they look sweet as hell when they have the headlights changed so that they are fully exposed while the lights are in lazy eye, (ie the dual "fog lights") and there is a new shroud made up to fit around them!! i really like that look, otherwise yeah, its gay (except on my 240sx Fastback https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR hehehehe)

I bought a little relay thing where you can turn a knob to how far you want them down or up but if you went to turn the lights on they go all the way up, I used it like 2 times, and to install I had to take the dash off, now I wish i didn't do it.

I love it oin my car becuase one light will be slightly higher than the other so it looks kind of like O_o

and I like people to think my car sucks and is broken.
