jamest16748500 10-30-2008 09:15 AM

I might be a tard but how can you see when driving at night if you do that. otherwise it looks cool.

raceneked 11-15-2008 08:01 PM

Nahhhh, nope, I dont think so. I'll take them up unless theres HIDS in there...

jwteknix 11-16-2008 08:11 AM

Couldn't you just modify the light's housing so that at your chosen amount of "sleepiness" the headlights point straight ahead?

ndiego124 11-22-2008 03:57 AM

how come noone has made a mod that just takes out the motor and the whole unit to where the lights sit just like they do in the FD's? that would seem alot better IMO. Cause sleepy looks terrible and normal their just too high up. I mean i understand what look your going for with sleepy but why not just like an FD headlight conversion kit?

defprun 11-27-2008 06:38 PM

Some purpouse-built drift cars will weld the light fixture in place and remove the motors. Some will go as far as using twin aftermarker round foglight-sized bulbs in there kinda like the Knightsport kit they have for miatas.

Nateb123 02-04-2009 11:58 AM

I thought there actually was a Knightsport kit for the FC which looked like the miata one. Isn't there?

fc3s4utnv 02-04-2009 09:26 PM

There is, good look finding a set, I saw a set on ebay a few years back that went for 1200 bucks

turbobound 02-05-2009 08:52 PM

i think sleepy eyes are alright for show cars or while your just sitting there but they arent that good for driving at night.

RicerJ 03-01-2009 04:04 AM

i really wish a new vote wouldnt bump/ mark it as a new post even if it is green meaning new poll it still gets annoying

defprun 03-01-2009 07:20 AM

I want something like the miata kit...I'm going to make a simple bracket to mount the twin lights in each pod and MAYBE put some lexan over it...

RicerJ 03-01-2009 03:30 PM

so something like this ? http://www.east-bear.co.jp/shopdetail/0390.../036/000/order/

RicerJ 03-02-2009 02:40 AM

http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=e...3Dofftranslated page and for some reason we dont have edit buttons

defprun 03-10-2009 10:00 PM

just like the red car you posted but without the fiberglass pods so i can ram air into the random **** i need air rammed into...ill have something so i can close them up when it rains...

RicerJ 03-10-2009 10:57 PM

red car? you mean from the site link i posted?

FC MidNight Blue 88 03-11-2009 11:37 PM

jwteknix 03-12-2009 09:15 AM

^^read this thread!!!!!

Nateb123 04-15-2009 12:27 AM

Epic fail AND Facepalm! Way to suck bud...

RicerJ 04-15-2009 04:55 AM

this thread is a epic fail at keeping **** straight because it keeps updating the time when nothing is new

artismal 04-28-2009 05:48 AM

call me crazy, but a custom light job would be to keep the full sized bulb and cut out the part of the front bumper the light sits behind when its down. a little bondo and some plexi and it could have a 3rd gen style to it. that seems a little looney though.

RicerJ 04-28-2009 10:52 PM

well you could always turn them up by hand lol but idk if they stay like that

It originated with drifters who reallized that a sideways car doesn't get nearly as much air in through the grill, so the idea is for the headlights to act like little scoops to help move air through the radiator and engine compartment.

Now, it's just a fad.

I agree thats why you must take out you head light surround bezels, thats the only way it looks good too.

here's my FC woth sleepy eye's

I have a little module hooked up to mine so I can adjust how far they go up, but I've had them set to down almost ever since I put that on, I prefer them down.

You just put the 30A fuse/relay back in where its supposed to go in the fuse box under the hood, its the one on the far left hand side of the box.

unlike the 240's the lights on the FC stay level and pointing forward the whole way down insted of pointing down, and the FC has these little things called flash to pass lenses so the light can pass through there too, so its not that bad. If you having that much trouble turn your high beams on, or get your eye's checked. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/wtf.gif

RicerJ 07-09-2009 11:52 PM

i say get your eyes checked first or just dont do it if you have that much of a problem

master_visionary 08-16-2009 10:20 PM

or like it has down syndrome :p i dig em tho but agree with the day night difference also how do yu make em do it and extreme dimension s bsport front solves the night driving problem it doesn't block the bottom half of the headlights

master_visionary 08-16-2009 10:23 PM

um well chek out the extreme dimensions FC3S bsport and bwave fronts @ extremedimensions.com

RicerJ 08-17-2009 12:53 AM

you pull the fuse for the retractor then you flick that knob that makes them go up without them being on or you can turn them on if its night when you do it and then just tap the fuse little by little they come up

tas_rx7 09-22-2009 11:10 PM

I had my lights so they could go up and down, the sleepy look gives off the jap drifter vibe tho lol, i like it!!!

sleepy only if bumper is cut so flash to pass is gone otherwise. gay

dawicka2 10-04-2009 03:30 PM

no flash to pass, no hole either....just sleepy.

RicerJ 10-14-2009 11:25 PM

wtf is that a fd bumper?

13bpower 05-18-2010 11:30 PM

Yeah, i vote no to this one. I will admit though, that 10 years ago I may have tried it if it was "known" back then. The older I get the more I like my FC to appear stock.

ROFLMFAO wtf is wrong with you Rotary Fanatacists lol ..........Sleep or not to Sleepy that is the question.....Honestly outta all the cars that i own this one is the oddest opening fliplight design that i have seen... the lens that are in the bumper seem to solve the problem of having them sleepy and still lighting the area in front of you which is cool... so i have to say SLEEPy, but Pls leave Spot/Butch outta this!!

EnayEx7 06-14-2010 04:40 PM

i like to look like this --___-- with the car but the cars eyes isnt red like mines https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...lt/biggrin.gif

sleepy =]

RotorDad 07-17-2010 06:04 PM

The sleepy look can look ok if the height is right & use a slimmer rectangle light instead of having half of the factory light hidden.

vanhalen 08-27-2010 11:28 PM

looks broken https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif
