Hey, first time visitor here. I just wanted to see if you guys had some advice for me. I am looking to buy a new vehicle and have come across a 1991 rx7 convertible for around 3000 dollars. My mechanic suggested it to me (he worked on for a customer who was looking to get rid of it) and he says it's sound. It has 140,000 miles on it. I wanna know if this is going to be a sound vehicle for my next three years in college? I live in atlanta and commute about 40 miles a day combined. Let me know some opinions. I like the car but have heard that if and when it breaks down it's very expensive to repair? Thanks for your advice

SAY NO TO PISTONS! seriously, get it. the best decision i ever made was buying my 91, even though it had been abused and had 170,000 miles. they're great cars.

Any car is expensive to repair. Just hard to find parts for it for cheap. Never driven a vert, but have owned an S4 SE, and I loved the car. Was a blast to drive.

Go for it!

Just be realistic. It isn't a 1991 Chevy Cavalier.
