I believe the S5 threads are 12x1.25, and the s4 is 12x1.5, I dont think I will be able to re-tap my S4 **** will I?

Can I use my S4 N/A shifter on a S5 TII transmission?

In this post there seems to be a good explanation.

When I was looking for a new **** (for my S4-threaded short shifter), I noticed there are a whole bunch for the S5 thread, but I could find none for the S4 thread. It shouldn't be difficult to find a **** that fits (unless you're dead set on having a stock ****).

Yes the threads on the ***** between S4 and S5 are different. It's been awhile since I have threaded any and can't remember exactly what the threads are.

The S4 and S5 shifters are pretty much the same length.

If you can't rework your custom ****; swap the whole shifter.

S5 is the odd ball. The S4 and FD are the same.

just the thread size. But seriously, its not the size of the shifter that counts, its how you use it.
