i just got my 88 not to long ago...and i have noticed that the gear box, is getting really hot! and that the once in a while there is some funky smell...my friend says its the cluch pad rubbing the gears, but i dont know could there be any other problem?

 

every single rx7 tranny gets hot in my experience. try changing the fluid and make sure you don't have any leaks

 

change the bushings and get only redline tranny fluid
