mazda part numbers are always 4 digits then 2 then 3, and it could have a letter if its been updated, followed by a 2 digit color code. lets pick a number, FC01-69-170-SQ. the first 4 tell you what car it fits, in this case its an 89+ rx7. the middle 2 tell you what "section" its in; 17 is transmission, 15 is cooling. the last 3 tell you what it is, in this case the 69-170 is a driver side mirror, 15-200 is a radiator, 17-481 is a shifter bushing. in this case they havent updated it, but it could be something like N332-18-881A, or N3A3-18-881R, where a is updated (could be a b,c,d etc) R is rebuilt. The last two is the color, SQ which happens to be red, usually its the same as the color code on the car.
the parts are sorted, middle, end, front, color. so mazdatrix lists their parts "wrong" because its easier to sort them that way.
