What about the B&M short throw shifter kit. I saw it somewheres for 150 bucks. It came with all the bushings you needed. Any good things about the B&M? Anybody used it/using it?



And rattling that bad over the exhaust? This is sitting at idle correct? Or while driving?

C`s has them too, which are nice. Little more pricey then the above, but never heard any rattling issues with them.

Mazdatrix says they tested the C's shifter in the car that rattled and they said it continued to do it.

it is easy to replace the stock shifter if you want to, but as someone who has bought the short shifter, I can tell you, you won't be able to, the difference in feel between it and stock is night and day, I was missing the 2-3 shift as well, with the short shifter in, it is like flicking a light switch. of course, it didn't help that the old shifter's tracking groove was broken, (at least the little plastic guide in it was.)

I know the point of a short shifter would be to shorten shifts and such but how exactly does it help you from missing 2-3? Also how much does it really help shifting action? And by that question I mean the only it allows you to shift faster right? Well how does that really help you unless you have an insanely high shifter to begin with? I would think it would just cause your tranny to wear a lot faster. Right now i can shift pretty fast with my stock shifter in fact its probably too fast becuase trying to shift as quickly as possible my rear tires always lose traction and i get this long *** scratch so it seems like i already shift too fast to begin with.

If you just want to tighten up the shifter just buy a set of replacement bushings and you'll be good to go.



If you feel the short shifter you will love it and not want to take it out.





Dramon - most of our cars shifter bushings are shot so to go to a short sifter from a regular one is like putting in a new one.



I was missing my 2-3 mainly becasue my bushings were shot.



I bought the short shifter because I wanted to race this car in AutoX and I wanted to be able to shift it fast and get back to driving. Mission accomplished.



The short throw shifter allows to complete a shift at a very sane pace extremely quick. That would be the best way I could describe it.

I just bought a short-shifter from my friend today..



The f*cking thing doesn't even have threads.



WTF



The **** on it is some kinda two-piece tomahawk POS and it just has the little allen wrench screws on the sides, you know..



So gay, I'm kinda disappointed. Now I have to buy some ricey little shift-**** from Autozone or something to compensate. What kind of designs are most effective for fast shifting? My friend in his N/A FC has the shaft style that's just a straight bar and that seems like a good idea. I'd actually kind of prefer that over the whole tomahawk style...

The mazdaracing kit is good. so is the Mazdatrix kit. U maybe got a no name kit? Yes the bushings are plastic and they go bad quickly. Replace them when the short shift and u will definately like it.
