Okay Teknics, then it is different in an S5 than an S4.

The three prong connector in an S4 is near the passenger side strut tower coming off of the front wiring harness. An S5 is apparently different.

If you still have the thermowax, make sure you adjust the TPS when the fast idle is off. If you adjust the TPS when its on, the TPS will go negative when fast idle turns off.

[Edit] NM i just saw your TB mod. Looks good.

yea uhhhhh, how do u jump the one by the battery? i took a paper clip and connected it to a connecter on each side so the clip wouldnt fall out. do u just connect both terminals in that one connector. and to make sure there should be 2 test lamps right? i thought it was the positives that were suppoesed to be connected. cuz when i connected everything the lamps didnt turn onat all. i'll try to connect the negatives.

please someone correct me if needed.

I've gotten good results by following the directions in the Haynes manual, which instructs to disconnect the harness from the TPS after the engine has been warmed up and shut off, hooking up a multimeter to the two prongs shown in the manual, and setting the screw until the meter reads 1.00 ohm of resistance with the throttle closed.

All the other stuff about using an LED and opening the throttle until the light goes off, etc. was not necessary in my opinion. All I checked was the idle resistance and the smoothness of the changing resistance of the tps as the throttle is opened. My car runs pretty well and only bucks once in a while when letting off the gas when it is cold. It doesn't ever buck when it is at operating temp.

theres a way to do it with the lights that works really really well (i think you turn both on and then turn it so there only 1) and its best to set HOT

yea thats how i did it, car up to operating temp, turn off, attach led's, put key into ON position, tighten until two leds are lit then slowly loosen until only one is lit.

now to fix the other bajillion problems, it feels like im installing a new motor without removing a motor.
