All those things that make a regular RX7 a good deal apply to the vert. Further, make sure it has the targa top headliner, the spare tire cover, the headrest speakers are working, presuming you have the leather option in it, that the seats are ok because recovering the leather is expensive!

Check it has the boot cover, the big vinyl piece (its not leather) that goes over the top when its down, that the top moves under its own power, that there is a vinyl bag for the targa top and that the taillights are intact as they are different from the coupe. That's some of the cosmetic stuff. Mechanical is same as coupe's in most cases. I can't recall differences, outside that the car is slower, heavier but you get to drop the top!

I'd be sure to drop the top and bring it back up to check the motors. If it has rained there in the last few days, feel the carpet, make sure it isn't wet or damp. Also check the top out to make sure there are not any rips.
