Okay, so heres my question: What is the limit of plaining and surfacing that can be done to the plates of a S5 turbo motor. I have the engine in a shop with a specialty mechanic I know but he like I knows little of the rotary motors. He however does know there is some specific limit as to how much can be plained off to make a smooth "refurbished" surface of the plate facings. He found a site that told the measurements but it is all in Japanese and well, neither of us speak it. So, I was wondering if anyone on here has done this before and could possibly let me know the limits of surfacing as in thickness of the plates. He can cut thousandths at a time but as I have been saying all along, does not know the limit that can be taken off. Any info anyone can provide would be great, thankyou.
