My car is a Sport which did not come with an LSD stock plus I have its open diff in the hatch lol. I tested the LSD again and the tires would spin the same direction. I have no idea why it did what it did on the GXL but it works.

And NO my open diff NEVER layed down two strips. The only way I know of it making two strips with an open diff is if traction is REALLY shitty like bald tires but it never did that.

Santiago
blue car we bought last year was a SE with open diff, it would lay down perfect 'posi marks' all day long, on falken sticky rubber.

The previous owner of the car actually got in an argument with me on the forum before we bought it off him claiming it had LSD because it would leave 'posi marks'. I have the diff in my garage that came out of that car, it's just a plain old diff.

IRS makes it much easier to do than with a solid axle in the rear like a pickup or mustang. Even with a solid axle you can do it by weight jacking or putting left rear in a puddle.

But if you are turning one side and the other turns in the same direcition, it's most likely a LSD. The LSD rear ends had a tag on the fill plug that said limited slip oil only... you could check if thats there. Though when getting serviced the mechanic often leaves it off because it gets in the way.

I didn't say I had a NEED for a torsen but if my LSD is broke I might aswell get a torsen for a couple of 100 bucks instead of rebuilding my clutch type for 400.

In any case the LSD works.

Do you mean what do you have to do to put a miata TORSEN in an NA?

The answer to that is nothing. It is a direct bolt in. But I tryied looking for one before, and the miata's that they came in are rather rare, and when you do find one, it would probably be cheaper to get a TII rear differential case and put it in your car. and then get an FD TORSEN. Because the miata one's are like $600-800 bucks.
