sorry for the bad posting..

shocker003 03-02-2010 05:32 AM

so today i was doing some more cleaning, and i started to wonder if the car even had an ecu... i opened it up and it did. the ecu had a pan speed sticker on it. i then opened the ecu and i could see a chip with a pan sticker on it along with some writing in pen " fu h:b b099". are any of you guys familiar with the pan speed chip and what it does?

shocker003 03-02-2010 05:55 AM

also how can you tell if its a turbo 2 ecu? do the green neon looking plugins have anything to do with it?

thatpoorguy 03-03-2010 09:10 PM

you should be able to find a part number on the ecu and reference it to the ones in the factory manual. as far as the rust, i suggest emery tape, but don't use it inside the housings as that's a machined surface and even the slightest low spot will really mess with the way the engine runs. for the water jackets you can use a wire brush or wire pipe cleaner, just make sure you get all the dust out or else it'll gum up somewhere else in the coolant system

thanks for the top

have you ever herd of the pan speed chip tho?

thatpoorguy 03-04-2010 07:51 AM

sorry i haven't man, nothing's really coming up from google either :/

thatpoorguy 03-04-2010 08:01 AM

i take that back, google pulled through after i tried a different search item. pan speed is a tuner out of japan and used to make chips for the tII's ecu from what i've gathered on the "other forum", but the thread i read through dated all the way back to 03, so i don't know if they still make them or how to even get in contact. they do however have a tuner profile on mazdaspeed, so i'd say it's a pretty damn good chip
