smart thing would be to do it BEFORE you put the fenders on |
well yeah, I didn't think of it either. I was a pig and painted the plastics part of the wells also, but I did mask off the fasteners and bolt heads though and I had to use tape on them. I swear that foil is handy, I try too use it too much. |
Do it before the fenders are on, that why the whole inner structure can be protected. Plus while the feners are off paint the top structure gloss black to match the engine bay and make a professional looking transition
|
transition to what?

wow, that looks great. protection is always key, i love seeing a clean 2nd gen. becoming harder to find day by day though...
and the aluminum foil is a great idea, now i have another tool in my masking arsenal, lol just a quick question, could you give some more info on the "dtr epoxy" you mentioned? thanks - Aaron |
you stole my idea. j/k nice job i plan to do the same in the future maybe even do the whole underside of the car
|
I don't know whether you have waxoyl over there, but it's great stuff for areas like that.
Rotorfest this year showed the quality of FCs have risen,, seems like all the RX7s are starting to follow a trend- the crappy cars are becoming parts cars the good cars keep getting better. |
yup, you may be right. just when looking at FCs for sale it's hard to find a nice clean one...and when there is, you have to pay $$$. although it could be because i live in Canada, lol https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png - Aaron |
