You can buy rebuilt engines for around $1600. If you do it yourself you will pay at least 600 for the gasket set, apex seals, o-rings, and all the other stuff you need. Since your engine is blown you probably have damage on your housing and/or rotor from pieces of Apex seal. Your Turbo might also have been damaged from pieces of the seal being expelled. Brand new housings run around 400 and rotors are close to the same. You can also find these parts used for cheaper. Another route you can go is to buy a Japanese spec engine for around a grand. They have low miles and are supposed to be ready to drop in and go when you get them. However people on this board have had some bad experiencs with them, ie no compression, bad coolant seals, etc. So if you like gambling go for it, or if you are just going to rebuild it anyways. Check out these sites for info, good luck.

No warranty = no guarantee it will have compression basically. If you want the engine quick and didn't have a **** load of debt I would buy a rebuilt engine with some streetporting from Atkins rotary or Mazdatrix. I would sell my blown engine for 500$ obo and get what I could. It might seem like a lot now but before you know it, it will be paid off. This way you will have a good working engine with a warranty that should last you for a while.

$400?

What kind of a shitty rebuild is that.

"Well you only broke one apex seal so thats all we will replace. The labor comes out to $370+tip+taxes"
