I need some help with my blowthrough carb setup. I have my stock gsl-se fuel pump wired to the engine fuse, so it comes on w/ the ignition.

The problem comes in with the fuel pressure. The carb needs very little fuel pressure, the gsl=se one puts out a lot. So, i have put in a mallory 4307M rising rate pressure regulator.

It doesnt seem that it is regulating anything, as it keeps flooding my engine when i try to start the car. Regardless of what pressure setting we put on it, it seems to put through the same pressure.

Some things i'm thinking are the problem:

1) Bad Mallory unit

2) Clogged fuel return line, forcing all fuel through (unlikely, we blew the return line through, didnt seem to be any restrictions.)

3) too much resistance on the return line, need to run to a new location.

What do you guys think?

I thank you for your help in advance

Try a 12a pump that puts out a 1/4 of what your SE EFI pump does.

Regulator is what controls the pressure so it must be a faulty unit.Post some damn pics on your site man.I want to see this.

found da problem.

fuel send line screwed in too tight, into the center valve thing, so it wasnt opening and closing.

backed it out a bit, so the valve shaft can move now,

but the threads are too loose on teh fuel line. So, maybe tons of teflon tape will help. but thats for another day.

tonite, i sleep.

gnite

you need a carb fuel pump. the EFI one is trying to put out 80psi and the reg. is trying to get it down to 6 or where ever.... one of them won't last very long. asuming you can get the pressure down where you want it.

carb pumps only put out a few psi.
