Hey guys.

I have an FC tII. Im wondering whats the deal with the rev limiter on these things? I have a feeling that i may not have one as the dash tacho revs to 8k and my turbo timer has recorded my revs as having gone to 8120. Yes its configured correctly. I also saw the needle wind past 8k on the dash.

Has the limiter been taken out? how do i get it put back on? and where should it normally activate?(so i know when to stop revving)

anyone got any answers for me?

thanks guys

there should be a fuel cut limiter around 8k, maybe its different if you have a s5.

ive accidentally hit it around 8k on my NA, but on a turbo i would avoid it so you dont hit it, cut fuel, go lean, and blow up.

just shift when it beeps at you, like everyone else does.

fuel cut is only boost dependent not rpm based and it on all tII

get a fuel cut defender to be safe. this will let you rev higher wthout the fuel cut.also it will let you turn the boost up.

but try not to shift past the redline. its pointless unless your motor is built for the higher powerband.

and no, theres no rev limiter. only the fuel cut. NA's have this as well.

s4s have a revlimiter s5s do not. i thought all did not have a limiter but i found out the hard way that only s4s have a limiter. by the way the stock tachs are way off. i saw about 1000 rpm differance at the top end to a autometer tach. the problem is the stock tach is flippin slow as comparison to the actual engine rpm. an aftermarket tach will read 8k with the stock tach reading around 7k on a WOT pull, and i noticed this on all s4 and s5s that i have worked on.

theres a big difference between stock and my safc too. up to 500+ depending on what rpm im at. Its even worse now that i wired a s5 cluster into my car. And there is a rev limiter on s4's. like i said i've hit it before on the track, spun and held it into a burnout, then my diff unlocked into a one wheel peel and it bounced off the limiter before i could catch it. but it cuts fuel, not spark like most rev limiters.

thanks guys.

Im pretty sure the reading i got from my HKS timer is correct. if it is i didnt hit fuel cut at 8120. and my boost gauge was reading 0.5bar. its apexi so also pretty accurate. But im sure my car is a s4 as its the heavy bonnet, though it has the s5 tail lights.

If i have the s4 then shouldnt my fuel cut activate at 6.5psi (1psi over 5.5)?? Coz i calculate 0.5ar to be over 7psi...

any thoughts?

thanks alot again guys.
