aggie- watch it with the wheelhop, thats the thing that breaks diffs
yeah, that's how i broke the first one...which had already been broken and re-welded.



i've learned to slip the clutch a lot better so my wheels dont slip as much. i guess instead of changing out a diff mount, i'll just end up changing out the clutch.



next time i drag, though, i'll try softening the rear dampers and see if that wont allow my tires to bounce instead of my whole rear end.

The job of dropping the diff is a pain and time consiming but definitely not difficult.

I tried to press 1 of the mount bushing out once on my '90..damn thing was in so tight it broke the thin half of the aluminum pot right off. Luckily I had a parts car. I figure next time I will burn out the rubber and slit the steel ring in half with a die grinder and pry them out. This may seem unnecessary but better safe than sorry.

man I have to replace my bushings in the front and rear this should be fun..guess I'll do it the same time I put in the new lsd when its time.
