acting the same? as in it acts like there is no syncromesh?

yeah, try either putting it in 1st or waiting for the grears to stop turning (30-40lbs of gears, in decent bearings)

also make sure you are not in motion when you put it in reverse.

it shouldnt be important if you have a syncro on reverse, most cars don't though.
