I'm removing my power steering pump. Do I just loop the in and out that went to the pump? Can I cap the in and out for the cooler or do I need to loop that also? If I'm all wrong jus let me know.

Thanks

Dave

i just plugged the holes where the high pressure pump lines went and the cooler line. then looped the lines on the rack (all you really should loop)

i just capped everything right on the rack, left a bit of fluid in it so it wont seize

yeah you can do that but then you have to compress air when you turn the wheel.

you loop the two fittings on the actual rack housing, everything on the gear body gets capped.

inside the rack housing theres a piston, on the actual rack, theres two fittings on two opposing sides of this piston... you loop the lines so the contents of one side can pass through the line to the other side so you don't have to compress the contents when turning with everything capped. Just run a line from one fittings at one side of the rack to the other, done.

I didnt cap anything. i just cut the lines removed the Power Steering CPU and was done with it. i later removed the left over lines and fittings. why should i have to cap anything? should i have?

because then you just make a big assed mess and let all the nasty crap in the environment into your rack.
