Well, yesterday was a good day, i cleaned and waxed my car... than

:Start idiot mode: I decided to remove my TB.. i was just curious, wasnt going to change anything.. took the sucker inside, cleaned it up.. made sure i let it dry real well (5 hours) before reinstalling.. it was a peice of cake, no brain science, 2 vac lines, 2 coolant hoses a TPS connector, throttle cable and OMP connection shaft... again no brainer.. i marked everything, and remember here's the ticker.. i did not change anything on the TB.. i didnt adjust and screwes didnt even take off the Tps.. now here's the problem

After reinstallation, i tightend everything, made sure everything was reconnected.. started the car.. ran fine.. cold idle at 1500 which it always does anyway

start driving, real easy cause she's cold... Once the Operating Temps came up.. the idle went up also.. It's up to 1700-2200... and the damn car will not Decel.. i have no engine brake whatsoever. So i checked the obvious.. maybe a hung throttle cable.. Nope, still has the same amount of slack as it did before

so

1. Cannot get the idle to go below 1700 rpms

2. I have no engine brakes... meaning she wont decel when in gear.

I've checked everything twice over, and everything is connected... i did nothing wrong to deserve this.... except get curious and take my TB off

THANKS GUYS

-Markus

Did you check you TPS? If this checks OK, I would suspect a leak somewhere past you AFM.

That's what you get for messing with a rotary

There should be a throttle stop set screw on the TB. It is a little tiny thing. After you have exhausted all of your other ideas you can back this bugger out and see if the idle goes down. This little screw can open and close the throttle plates so maybe it jiggled out a bit. The retaining nut can loosen and then the screw will not stay in the right place.

My quess - on the back of the TB is the "half circle wheel thingy" that the throttle cable connects to. It has a braket on the end of it. Make sure that your throttle cable is seated properly in the braket and that teh end of the cable is connected properly.

good point, there is also a few tension springs to go with the "half circle thingy" on this side of the TB that can come out of position if you mess with it
