Ok narrowed the leak down to the area of the throttle body and the upper part of the intake manifold. (The part where the big "dynamic chamber" attaches to the runners)

I pulled the throttle body and wanna know if there are any gaskets that are supposed to be there? Can't find em in any of my shop manuals, the parts sheet I have doesn't cover that part (grrr) and I'm wondering as there are none there. Just the black spacer. Looks like there may have been but...

Anyway who knows the answer?

There's no gasket there. If you're worried then you could use some silicone in that area.

Sealed it all up good, same thing happend so there's still a leak. Went checking for it again, discovered that the emissons solinoid mess area seems to be the likely culprit (And why not there's enough hoses there to choke a horse)

While looking my blue solinoid (switch valve or some such) decided that dry rot was cool and the end went ker snap.

Grrr. No easy access to replacements.

I'm thinking of plugging all smog related vaccum hoses and seeing if it runs. Anyone know about the ramifications of removing all the emissons crap? Other then legal? Less hoses is better as far as I'm concerneed I'd just hate to roast my cat converter. . .

I've always got that vacuum leak sound under the dynamic chamber or around the solenoid parking lot and never found anything, is this the wind blowing in the dynamic chamber or what? :notify:

If you find something there let me know.

But does it seem to cause a loss of power. As I mentionned in a previous post, I've always felt that there was lack of power on my car.

Is there someboby who can tell me what kind of performance this car should give anyway.

First I got to solve my secondary injector problem, then we'll see what I can get from it. I ordered the AP-22 from Race-Technology. I used to have a gauge but it's broken, I'll get a new one but the last time, vacuum was 17 or 18 if I remember.

I was just hoping to get an idea of what to expect! :newlaugh:

Thanks
