yes i know its supposed to beep at or around 7k (redline). BUT here is my problem, when it beeps is very inconsistant, sometimes 5100rpm up till 7200rpm. it usually works (beeps at 7k) the first time i drive the car that day, then say on my way home from work it will beep anwhere from 5200-6400rpm. dosent matter how i start the car up, let it warm up at idle, baby it untill it it warms up (under 3k) or anyway i let the car warm up. i keep my car topped off at the top line with 30 weight royal purple, no oil additave. my car has 79k original miles. is there something that might be malfunctioning? any feedback would be greatly appreciated. -alex

Also... I'm a little curious as to why you're using Royal Purple. I know it's good oil and everything.. but it's also synthetic isn't it? I could have sworn synthetic is bad for rotary's.

its a cleaner oil that leaves less deposits deposits and is more consistant. i was having this problem even before i switched to a synthetic. Go to royal purple and racing beats website, they both approve royal purple for use in rotarty motors, its the only oil that actually caused a horsepower gain. belive me i didnt want to do anything that would harm my motor. i did a complete oil flush when i switched over. any other thoughts on why my beep is malfunctioning? could i be doing any harm to my motor by taking it to 7k when its beeping at 5? its not any slower or anything, just annoying.
