ok here's the problem:

on my control cluster the light for the rear window defroster button stays lit, whenever i press it the voltage doesnt go to the defroster lines.

so i inspect it and go to the relay, take the cover off the relay and find that all i have to do is close the switch inside the relay and it works, which means the switch isnt closing when power goes to the relay to switch it.

When i disconnect the relay the light on the control cluster turns on and off like it should.

i test the connector to the relay, one connection that goes to one side of the coil measures 10.5V with the button in off position and .75V when its in the ON position.

the other coil connection measures .15V whether its on or off.

i hope i explained it clearly, i need help, dont feel like running to junkyard to grab another relay if there could be another problem somewhere else.

kevin.

My car did that, I checked and changed bad fuses. One of the fuses powers the switch (and alot of unrelated crap) so check them all.

if you have to manually work the relay then the relay is bad

Not if the switch doesnt trigger the relay. Check to see if if the switch is sending power to the relay
