This may sound crazy, but I would follow the same guidelines that I do for my child's safety seat. Same concept, it's a 5-point harness. They say to never have the should belts lower than the shoulders, they must be even or above the shoulders. I would think child seat manufacturers would have to follow much more stringent guidelines than the racing harness guys.
pw3nt.
while we're on the topic of cpracing, I'm interested in their 4 point roll cage, any opinions on that?

where it bolts (on the piece in the floor behind the front seats that is like a "mini wall" for the storage bins) isnt exactly the best place, IMHO, to mount it. Seems more likely that that area would collapse in an accident...and i dont think moutnign ti there is NHRA approved either.
of course if you just want the look its fine.
and again, this is my understanding, i could be wrong.

One picture i found of harness mounting in Rally cars..
Only diff for mountingpoints in Drag racing is as far as i know that the shoulder belts cant be more than 4" lower than youre shoulders.
Plz correct me if im wrong.

[quote name='donhayes' date='Mar 14 2005, 12:04 PM']anyone know where i can get a cheaper rear strut tower bar that i can modify to make it higher to properly hold the seat belts? I used to see ones on ebay but i haven't seen them in a while.

my 0.02 cents, i wouldn't attach harnesses to a rear strut bar, if you're going to run with a harness best way to do it is with a cage i.m.h.o.
