Picture twisting your body trying to get something from the back seat. You can't do that with a 4 point, 5 point harness, or 6 point harness. It is the ability to move yuor upper body that will save your life when the time comes.

When you have a roll cage or roll bar obviously the needs change. What you want to do is restrain your whole body. Since the idea of the cage is that it won't be comprimised during an accident. Also if you do get a full cage, it's probably unwise to use a 3 ponit OE system anymore since the likely hood of you smashing into a bar somewhere is high, and you might die that way.

It's a 3 point schroth harness, not a 4,5, or 6 point, that would be a little insane. I mostly want it for autocross so I won't be falling out of my seat the whole time. Schroth also makes a little sensor thingy that you put onto the end of the harness behind you that will give you some slack if you want it, just like a normal belt, but you can lock it by flipping a switch or something. maybe that would be the way to go.

Thanks, do you happen to know where the lap belt would attach on the upper part?

only the s4 had lap belts? my s5 has a automatic torso belt that attachs to the pillar and a lap belt you pull across and attach by the e-brake
