I want to get the Schroth racing harness, but I don't really have the money to get a roll cage to install the belt onto. My friends have rear seats in their cars and were able to just install onto the rear upper mount. Like this... ( http://store1.yimg.com/I/soloracerdotcom_1826_20414945 ). Do the rear seatbelts attach up there somewhere? Or are they just lap belts? The Schroth harness is street legal in my state.

This is the last time...I swear....but i guess that link doesn't take you directly to the harness, you have to go to automotive, then belts, then the harness is the rallye 3 asm.

If you were to put rear seats into a 2 seater how would you install the belts?

In their manual it says to mount on the C pillar on an rx-7 fc3s. My friends and most people just attach to where the rear seatbelt used to go ( not on an rx-7). Where can you get a good cheap, collbar? And I wouldn't want to have to remove my buckets behind the seats.

You have to have the racing harness mounted just slightly higher to slighly lower than where your should height it. Else when you crash and the seat belts hold you in place when you crash it will compress your spine, and you might end up having a wheel chair instead.

You need to do some research, just because so and so did it, that doesnt mean it's right.

2nd is when you roll your car with anything but a 3 point OE seatbelt. Since you can't move, when the roof collaspe's you too will be in a wheel chair.

SCCA, CASC, FIA all have regulations on how to mount harnesses and you should look that up after you install yoru roll bar.

but even with a stock seatbelt, how can you move? you can't unless you undo the lap belt and the sholder belt, with the schroth you only have to unclick one and your free.

It isn't the lap belt. It's the belt that goes over your shoulder. It only locks when you give it force. Once you've rolled or are rolling you can bend your torso over and prevent being squished by the roof. With a dual shuolder belt you can't do that since it doesn't alow you to move your torso.

But hey what do I know. It's not my car in the first place nor is it my life.
