so i was in the junkyard today looking for some random parts and found 3 1988 base model n/a FC's. i'm sure you are all familiar with how the weather stripping on the bottoms of the driver/passenger side windows crack open over time revealing the metal beneath. but on any 89-91 FC's that i've seen this on the metal below is bare rusty metal...but on these 88's it was chrome!?!?!

i know some older vehicle have a sort of chrome weather stripping...but this had the regular rubber material overtop of the chrome. any S4 owner have these???

and at the junkyard i was able to find an FC battery box W/cover, plastic underpan tray/guard, inner fender well guard, and passengerside door air vent all in perfect condition for only $15 :bigok:

hey man did it have any interior pieces (specifically dthe warning light surround in blue)

also i could use some mufflers that arent rusted to pieces (will pay shipping and stuph)

I thought they changed it to plastic in '89. I know any that you order from mazdatrix now are all plastic, all years.

sorry dude...

2 interiors were red...one was black (that one was missing the piece you were talking about)

although all 3 engines were intact, all the exhaust had been stripped off them...

Buy new ones, fixes that problem!

They also keep as much water from running between your window and your door which on a vert we need all the help we can get.

I believe to have found the source of the leak behind the drivers seat, thats the only leak I get.

You should have asked me. I figured that one out a long time ago. Just stick some foam wetherstripping in there, and it will cut down on the leaking.

the outer door weather strips are only like $40 new....

i think the early ones are painted stainless steel, the laters ones have a rubbery coating, but are still metal underneath
