well its not an 87-88 unless, they changed both bumper, painted the moldings and everything under thood, including that s5 radiator radiator. Some dealers have screwy options, my 88 GTU has a sunroof and steel hood, they're not supposed to. those are the GTUs rims too.

I have an 88 GTU with a sunroof and steel hood too. I love the sunroof and the steel hood got swaped out when I did the TII conversion so its all good! :P
