When I bought mine, my stereo didn't work either (stock stereo) so I just hit it and it started working fine. That is, until I turned it off and tried to turn it back on again. No juice, so i hit it again, and poof. Like magic it started again. The stock stereos are Pioneer.

Mine has 3 amps from the factory.

You sure you took power from the right source?

I dont know, the flickering on and off would seem like a

loose connection. Double check all your connections, if you

used butt conectors, which I hope you did use, I would

replace the power one, maybe its not quite on there right.

Butt connectors suck ***. Get a soldering iron and some heat shrink tubing and/or electrical tape.

butt conectors work well when you have a good tool

to crimp them and know how to use it. I think alot of

people dont know how to properly use butt connectors,

I used to think they were **** too when I first tried using them

and didnt know how to properly use them

I use marine grade connectors and shrink tubing

GM weatherpack connectors work great too, i used them on all 3 amps and the door speakers on my leaky vert, you need a really good crimping tool though. If it is turning on and off, could it be a relay?
