OK I was just outside with my friend who has an 86 volvo 240DL with a turbo in it, I was sitting there as he pulled off to go home and you can hear his turbo spooling up even at like 2500rpm not hard on the throttle at all. In my seven I dont even know if you can here my turbo and it makes me kind of sad. Are Rx7 turbos supposed to be loud, mine definetly isnt, is there a way to pump up the sound of my turbo spooling. Plz help.

You have to also take in to consideration that our cars are loud. A volvo is not. I was never able to hear the turbo until it was boosting around 14 psi, and that was only the intake. You can hear GTIs turbos really well also, same with my TSI.

Do you have a S4 or 5. I cant remember. The S4s have twin scroll which limits the amount of exhaust and all, which you should know.

A larger diameter exhaust system will allow you to hear the turbo better and a larger turbo.

its and 88s4 with s4 motor and turbo, so if I got a aftermarket dp and a bigger exhaust(3"), I would be able to hear my turbo better. This prob sounded like a gay question, I was just jealous because my car is one of the faster cars in my hood and you can hear almost every turbo on the road but I cant hear mine it just made me sad and jeallous of other people stock turbo charged cars that there turbos were loud and you couldnt even hear mine until it blows off.
