I have an 86 GXL. Does anyone know which wire in the stock radio dash wiring is used for? I mean, which wire is power, which is ground, which is memory, etc etc.

Any help would be appreciated

i just use a voltmeter, but its the 3 prong plug, and that single one. ground you have to find on your own, its not in the harness

OK, so that's power. which ones are for the speakers, or is it better to just run my own? what about lighting?

speakers are easy enough to find if you are already splicing wires, there should be something like a white wire, white wire with a black stripe or something. but anyhow the speaker wires will be the same color, if you hook a 9v battery up to the wires of the same color, doesnt matter which wire goes on negative or positive. the speaker will make some noise

the rear speakers end up the same color at the speaker and the radio.

for the front since it goes thru that weird amp, i usually run my own wires, but ive heard you can unplug the amp and just put the 2 plugs together and it works
