the guy who owned it decided he wanted a new car, he just parked it and never drove it again, I did try pushing the pedal in and out a bunch of times, Ill have to put it up and check it out

The T/O could be stuck on its slide, but usually the pedal stays to the floor.
Put it in 4th and push the car by hand to see if the motor turns. Give you an idea if the clutch is engadging. 4th is usually the last surviving gear in a big failure.

so all it does it just revs in gear?
I don't think it's the throw out bearing. The throwout bearing is used to push on the fingers of the pressure plate to release the clutch disc from the flywheel.
I would say either the clutch disc is fubar and is slipping like there is no tommorrow. Or there is something wrong with the tail section of the tranny and the shift forks causing you to not leave neutral in the tranny.

HAHAHA
How Ironic!
MY 83' is doing exactly the same thing. I know its the clutch. I thought maybe it might be a defective slave cylinder, so I took it off, and same thing. The car goes nowhere in any gear. Unfortunatly mine decided to stop engaging the engine while I was on the freeway. EXACT same symptoms as yours. At first though I could smell burning clutch, but after a point no smells at all.
Ill bet $100 that your pressure plate diaphram is the culprate. just worn out. So it doesnt have enough tension to push your friction disc to the flywheel.
However, www.rx7.com Sells some Bonez Racing clutch's for a good deal! 100% more clamping force than stock

can you select 1st or any gear while the engine is idling? or can you only select a motion gear when the engine is off?
if the case i'm describing is correct you have a hdraulic problem...
if you can select a motion gear while the engine is running and when you go release the clutch pedal and you step on teh gas and you can't go anywhere. It's either the slave is stuck and continually pushing the pressure plate and not letting the clutch disc make contact with the flywheel... OR... the clutch disc doesn't exist anymore and is in 1000 little peices.... But you should hear a grinding or bad sound of the disc is FUBAR.
