well the 88 se i got a couple weeks ago is starting to get there. last week removed all the wiring hasrnesses from the car cleaned them up, solderd any nessisary connections, and what not. the car also came w/ little to no interior and what it did come with still remains in a large box that im resisting trowing out lol but any way so while i had the whole interior is gutted i figured i will id redo everything from carpet to interior pieces b/c the car had blu interior, ewww and i plan to make a show car out of it. so i embarked on the mission and got prices for almost evey thing my parts guy now hates me lol. carpet and insulation for dealer $1000+ no ******* way would i take that route. so i spent countless hours searching to find a cheaper but better alternative. i found alot of u guys were removing the stock deadener and were replacing it with aftermarket insulation products. so i found this website with the help of another forum memeber. http://www.secondskinaudio.com/index.php

here i found exactly what i needed i orderd 120sq ft of damplifier, 9sqft of luxury liner, 9sq ft of overkill, and 9sq ft of heatwave. so i recieved it the other day and finaly got a chance to install all of it. i had prepped the floor pans and hatcharea last week for the **** it was a pain in the ass but worth it. so i just went to it. first, i layed the damplifier every where but the roof and doors, still have enough damplifier to do them next week. then i layed the overkill on top of the damplifier using 3m super spray adhesive i stuck it to where the bins sit, and where the drivers and pasengers ass and legs go, then i layed the heatwave (good stuff) from the fire wall and all the way down the transmission tunnles top and sides then i layed down the luxuryliner witce is a really nice mat material over the overkill for the driver and passanger ass and leg and used this really good insulated aluminum tape my father gave me that is used for ducting to hold down everything w/ the 3m stuff. i felt comfortable leaving the back hatch areas just covered w/ just the damplifier b/c im using the stock hatch carpet and insulation covered in black leather and stiched together. the front however i was just going to lay some new nice black carpet my mother could get me for free, but found that after market places make a molded carpet for our car thats realtivly cheap so i am gonna opt for that, i still have to order it though. then once i get the carpet i can put in the blk dash i have for it. the only thing left interior wise for me to do is to dye my grey s4 panels black b/c s4 models dont come in black. the engin bay(front end) is completely gutted not even the fenders bumper and lights are on the car. i have started prepping the front end and engine bay for a nice thick gloss black paint job. i am a im the progress of ordering corksport 30mm wide body fenders, so that i can put my sleek light bumper on and start fitting it along with the rest of the kit so i can get the body panited a nice pearl white. also have a apexi pfc and commander on its way from japan so i can get this thing properly tuned. my monster ported turbo motor. right now im running the bnr stg 4 on it with the rtek but i got rid of the rtek so i am thinking about puttin the turbo on my DD 91 tII and get a gt40r for the se. oh yeah i still have to swap the diff and 5 lug hubs and calipers off my other car. thats about it for now il keep u guys posted. btw its nice to have a car that i dont have to drive and another just for parts lol

jwteknix 10-24-2007 05:06 PM

yeah my mom sells leather, carpet, and custom funiture she does all kinds of crazy **** like does interiors of private jets and houses **** like the so she gave me a whole hid of black leather and i brought that and my carpet to my friends dad who makes leather stuff and he put them together and it looks absolutly awsome

oh and thanks for the info now i just have to check at work to see, do they come with auto seat bealts? thats the only reason

1Revvin7 10-24-2007 06:21 PM

jwteknix 12-12-2007 08:31 PM

carpets in dash is in interior of the car now looks like new. just have to figure out whether or not in gonna keep the sunroof or not and then i guess make a head liner?

jwteknix 12-12-2007 08:48 PM

carpets in, dash is in interior of the car now looks brand new still have to wrap the center consol in black leather and spray the remander of the grey interior pieces black w/ this really good plastis die, the mazda speed seats are soo nice also have to figure out whether or not in gonna keep the sunroof or not and then i guess make a head liner? i should be getting the engine bay painted later this week hopefully but its supossed to snow, then i can put the engine in. i have my whole ss braided line brake system sitting in a box am running all -an lines and fitting and b&m launch control like kevin set his up just need a new master. at the moment im working on my fuel delivery setup, im gonna make some sick **** but that will be saved for another thread lol. last night i finished wiring my fc coils for the pfc. so every things basically getting there ill keep you guys posted

jwteknix 01-02-2008 10:56 AM

well, a little update, yesterday I worked on the interior a little bit more, died some of the interior pieces w/ this spray stuff and to my surprise it looks and worked well. I tried to scuff and scrap it of after I appied a coat and let it dry, but it would not come off this stuff is pretty solid. Just have to mount the seats in and then i can play around with the sunroof so that i can put the headliner and rest of the interior peices back in. today i should be getting the engine bay painted black, so i can finally put the engine in w/the rest of the harnesses and run all the ss fuel and brake lines. Just need new master cylinders and slave for the brakes and clutch. I already have all the caliper, t fittings, hose and ends. Also, got speed bleeders and line lock for the brakes. Fuel, I decided to go w/ an external pump ,but utilize the stock tank so I made my own tank assembly to use the stock fuel level sensor w/ a -10an 90 degree bulk head for the feed to the pump and a -6an 90 bulkhead for the return. on the bottom of the -10an bulkhead in the tank i have a aeromotive 100 micron filter as a pre pump filter, as for a pump i decided to go w/ aeromotive a1000 -10an inlet and outlet. Where it will go to a y block w/ 2 -8an outlets then to 2 earls 85 micron -8an inline filters to kg rails then -6an to the fpr and back to the tank. So what u guys think?

james

jwteknix 01-02-2008 01:38 PM

Engine bay is now painted. The guy who does our mazda body work for us and his brother came over and primed it sprayed 2 black coats of this stuff he claims to be awsome, its called glass something idk. Then sprayed 2 clear coats. Looks really good he painted almost everything from the windsheid forward basically every thing youd see with out the fenders and bumpers on. im getting a new phone next week hopefully so ill get some pix up soon. at least im one step closer.

james

jwteknix 01-23-2008 03:40 PM

teknics 01-25-2008 05:33 PM

james please tell me those mirrors came with that car.

anywho, lookin good, congrats.

oh and i see your pictures have "iphone sideways syndrome"

kevin.

jwteknix 01-27-2008 10:39 AM

yes kev mirrors came w/ the car they,re carbon fiber i kinda like them. yeah the iphone does take sideways pix lol but im bout to get upgraded to 1.1.3. Finally figured out the wiring problems i was having just have to figure out how to hook up the alternator, 1 wire goes to the CPU somewhere and the other has to go to the interior engine fuse. i was trying to pull the engine out of the donor car today but dont wana pull it myself hopefully kev will give me a hand when he gets up, just have to pull off to fuel lines and engine/trans mounts. ohh does any one know where to get a new brake master clylinder w/ resevoir for under $140? also thinking about keeping the roll up window for simpliciy. i need black roll up door panels. i have gray power window door panels im willing to trade for. also have some funtioning regulators for an extra price

james

jwteknix 02-03-2008 04:45 PM

We today I finished wiring the tII engine harness to the n/a front harness. Just need to get the fuel and brake lines in. I have the brake and clutch master and slave on order from mazdatrix. Just finished my fuel pump assembly and installed it but didnt take any pix. it is so nice looking. So I can now start the fuel lines and what not. Then I can finally put the motor in. And finish up the rest of wiring.

James

Leetheslacker 02-03-2008 09:17 PM

**** you ******* wheres the goddamn pictures

jwteknix 02-04-2008 05:31 PM

lol wendsday ill push it out of the garage, and get some good pix of the interior and ones of the top of my pimp ass fuel pump assembly. ill proby start making my fuel lines now the i got the assembly in still have to find where i am gonna mount the a1000 i got but thats the least of my problems . kev said hell help me pull the motor out of the donor car sunday we'll see how that goes, but yeah its getting there. to get it running all i have to do is get my primary injectors and brake **** in, then the motor can be put in and finish the rest of the wiring. then i get to swap the diff and lugs over thats gonna be funn with no lift or any thing lol

james

jwteknix 02-06-2008 03:55 PM

ok i got bunch of pix, but first u need to listen to my bullshit lol

well started the day at 9. took the sissor jack out of the 91 and jacked up the car. Put cinder blocks at all 4 corners lol. only had to move the jack twice the front of the car is soo light it lifted when i jacked up the rear lol. Removal of the stock fuel lines sucked. would have been easier if i dropped the rear subfram but im at home and all my **** is at the shop, so i only have the bear nessesities, as you can see w/ me using cinder blocks as jackstands.

i then after saying **** the bullshit and cut those goddamn fuel lines out. I took the 10 ft of -10 an ss fuel line and attacted a hose end to it, then attached it to the previously mounted, custom fuel pump assemblyran it down the tank and above the subfram to the approximate location I wanted to locate the a1000 fuel pump. I wanted to put it under the car on the backside of the drivers bin/compartment, but do to the size, and weight and space availibiity (for me and the pump lol), i had to opt for a different route.

this is one of those times many will diss agree to my decision, but i dont care wat you have to say. i choose to place the pump in the inside of the car at the bottom of the driverside bin it fit perfect with a few washers for spacing. i cut 2 holes for the inlet and outlet lines at oppisite corners of the bin after the line went out the outlet of the bin i then again had to rout the line above the subframe and what a bitch it is trying to route these huge SS line thru **** lol then ran it along the inside of the frame rail to the bay. still have to call summit they own me a fitting for my y block reducer so i had to stop there need to find a place i can mount the spliter w/ enought room to mount my 2 -8 post inline filters befor the rails but that shouldnt be a problem i just cut the -10 furture back and use the extra length for oil cooler lines.but yeah its getting there.

james

jwteknix 02-06-2008 04:00 PM

first is kevs engine bay of his 3rd gen to4z and some part that are waiting to be put on

jwteknix 02-06-2008 04:08 PM

secondary rail, -8 85 micron post inline filter, now compare 2 of those and my 100 micron prefilter to the stock filter lol and heres the outside of my pump assembly that 2 wire pass thru was crazy expensive but well worth it.

jwteknix 02-06-2008 04:12 PM

a few of the interior the last one is of my custom strut towers w/ carpeting definatly not finished but still looking good

jwteknix 02-06-2008 04:17 PM

a nice pic of the bay, fuel pump mounting in progress, fuel pump mounting finished w/ lines. new line running to the bay

jwteknix 02-06-2008 04:20 PM

[attachment=43914:IMG_0074.jpg][attachment=43915:IMG_0076.jpg]the old lines and i was bored so i took a quick one of the 91's cluster. oh and in some of the pix you can see the secondskin insulation i put down when there was no interior

vosko 02-06-2008 10:08 PM

omg. take normal pix or clock them. its so goddamn annoying to look at them oriented wrong

jwteknix 02-07-2008 06:17 AM

omg I did mad work and was nice enough to document it and your gonna bitch about my pix? Why dont you just rotate them in paint and read the rest of the thread and that the photos are wacked bc of the iPhone. Does anyone have something productive to say

James

jwteknix 02-17-2008 11:55 AM

well did a little bit of work today. got abunch of pix. pulled the motor and trans out of the donor car. it took us a whole hour and a half to get i out w/ no proper tools but wasnt too bad

jwteknix 02-24-2008 08:03 AM

i got some new toys this week, banzai PFC adaptor and base map, banzai poly motor mounts, kg parts 1000cc primary injectors and im just waitin on summit to bring me the last fitting for the fuel system. im gonna try to get the brakes done today, well see

james

jwteknix 02-24-2008 04:57 PM

ok i got alot of the brakes done.

I swapped out and cleaned the vac booster and all the stock hard lines put the reman 88 tII master w/ porportioning valve in. Assembled all the fittings and ran lines. Thought for while about where to locate the B&M line lock, first thought that i had, was on the drivers side strut tower but decided if it was in the middle of the car it would be easier to create equal length lines to the calipers, so i opted to put in on the firewall then split the line right after the line lock , then ran my front caliper lines. and ran a single line to the back ill finish that on wendsday hopefully.

i also mounted my 3 bar map sensor and alli the rest of the engine bay stuff just waiting on summit to send me a fitting so i can finish my fuel sytem then just need a few heater hoses and a couple brake line gromets. then the motor can go in

ill post pix in a little bit

james

jwteknix 02-27-2008 03:42 PM

ok update I received the fitting I was waiting for so i mounted my y block and ran the two inlet lines for the kg rails withc i also mounted w/ my new 1000cc primary and 1680cc secondaries just have to wire new injector pigtails for the primaries. Alzo didnt have to pull the intake to do any of this. I think I can drop the motor in Sunday. I have alot of pix I'll post up when I get on my comp

James

jwteknix 02-27-2008 04:39 PM

jokerx7 02-28-2008 03:11 PM

Any chance you could put up some photos of the leatherwork? I was contemplating having my dad do up some interior pieces for me, and was curious how they look on your car? Thanks.

jwteknix 02-28-2008 06:27 PM

well actually I've Been slackin on the interior for the moment I'm just trying to get this thing running before spring. Really the only things I have in leather are the rear carpet and am still in the process of covering my center console lid. I'll try to clean up the back and get some pix for Sunday but I'm probably gonna spend most of the day putting my motor in

Ahh fair enough... At least you have your priorities straight. I won't have a chance to even look at my 7 until May, but at least in the meantime I have the Formula SAE car to work on. Best of Luck to you on your project. It's looking great so far. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

jwteknix 03-02-2008 08:32 AM

james

jwteknix 03-02-2008 02:13 PM
