For those of you who have or do polish intake manifolds and other under the hood metal, what would be the steps involved in polishing the brake calipers? What equipment can be used and what order.

Can they be polished or just cleaned?

I painted mine black and then used a file to smoothen the mazda on the side so the mazda is silver and the rest is black. It looks nice. Nothing flashy but it looks like they're brand new. I don't know how long you can keep the calipers shiney when polished.

if your making a show car go ahead and do it but if you are just making a street/strip car dont bother they will be impossible to keep clean

i suggest you just do what most do and clean them up real good (bead blasting) and then just paint them

They can be polished... afterwards apply a high quality/high temp clear coat to the calipers them selves. that should last at least a good year or so before they start to dirty again...

I used a wire brush wheel/cup and it worked very well. Its been nearly 9 months now and they still look pretty good.
