ah damn :sigh: |
Here is my newly acquired 1988 Anniversary Edition. I REALLY want to replace the stock wheels with a set of those VOlk TE37 wheels on Erik's car though... And I want a set of gold AE rotors on my car. They were gone off this car when I bought it.

... and yeah, I know the wheels are on backwards. They were like that when I bought it also. These pics are the PO's pics he sent me before I went to go look at the car.

Hello, Im new to this board, I used to post on the convertible RX-7 site, but havent in a while. Im Rob, from Long Island, New York. My car is a 88 convertible that I restored over the past 6 years from the original owner who had neglected it. First winter I take the car off the road, and its been so nice out! Ill post a bio on the car if anyone replies, or is interested for that matter! Besides a exaust, everything else is cosmetic. Look forward to talking to some of you in the future!

Hope everyone had a good weekend, nice to see replies. Well, the car is a 1988, when I got it from the original owner, a woman who had given the car to her kid, who then proceeded to ruin it. I did work on the car from when it was new, but then lost site of it when the kid got it. Anyhow- when I repainted it, I painted all the flat black mouldings the same black as the car, any other mouldings, along with the mirrors, and tailights which were getting that cracked looked. Removed the emblems and filled the holes. The car looks like it should have came this way, I guess like the newer convertibles. Racing Beat pre-silencer and Borla stainless mufflers, Powerslot rotors with Axxis Metal Master pads are the only mechanical changes and I always change the coolant/oil/plugs. A new this past summer, 3 piece Wet Okole seat covers with RX-7 logo cover the seats for now until I find someone capable of re-doing the leather seats. Finally- 17 Enkei RPOM rims with a full 2" lip ( which I will get polished before the summer ) with 245/40/zr17 Falkens GRB's. Looking foward to perhaps attending a event and seeing some other sevens!

http://www.plauder-smilies.com/happy/xyxwave.gif Yeah, I think I'm going to trade my RX-7 for it. :sigh: |
If I had to drive that, I'd make sure to tint the windows so nobody could see me...and by the looks of things, it'd take a lot of tint!

Okay here is mine:
The only indication something isn't right here would be that oil cooler. Maybe mistaken for an intercooler. http://www.daczone.com/sm_dcp00578.jpg Then again that funny sounding engine coming from the SuperTrapp at the rear. http://www.daczone.com/sm_dcp00579.jpg I'll detail the engine area and tie up wires as soon as I have more time. It looks messy... but yes it fits without too much trouble. http://www.daczone.com/sm_dcp00580.jpg http://www.daczone.com/sm_dcp00581.jpg The VIEW MOST people will see: http://www.daczone.com/sm_dcp00582.jpg GO-FSTR "Support your local POLICE" Larger Pictures are here |

This Friday! I left my laptop at work this weekend. But I did want to recheck all my wires before I start it. I did crank it over a few times this weekend. So it's close.
I just need to connect my factory tach up, which I will do after I start it. Everything else, including the backup lights, speedo are all hooked up. I filled the coolant and found I had a bad cap. I've taken care of that and it looks good now. I hope setting up the Haltech is smooth. I've got a map from RX7.com. I added a mixture trim knob and have a A/F Meter in the dash so I think I should be able to fine tune it. This has been a 18 month project (from the time I pulled the motor out of the Doner car). But many other things have gone on in my life that have slowed the project (moving and not having a garage being one of them). |
Where in Oregon do you live?
|
if you are gonna tune it with the wonderful help of an A/F meter, i hope you arent using the Autometer one. that one is more show than anything else. The real ones come with an O2 sensor tuned for the unit. K&N makes one that goes for round $100.00.....but its worth it to be accurate....
