Performance meters
I'd like to get a performance meter, but in comparing the G-tech I found another one that looks pretty interesting. Anyone have it?

Race-Technology
It looks good and does 60 foot and 1/8 times along with HP figures in real time along with data logging. The 3 things I don't like, no backlit LCD, No mounting hardware (comes with velcro and double stick tape), Twice the price of a G-tech.

I'm looking for a performance meter too and the one from Race-Technology seems to have more for the price, depending of your needs. If you're looking for 0-60 acceleration, 1/4 mile timing and things like that, ok, but if you really wanna know where you lost time on the track, with this one you can do it easily. But I'll go for the AP22 instead of AC22, it has the same functions, more memory and you can download to computer for a better look at what went wrong. It also compensate for aerodynamic drag and rolling resistance. I also do kart racing, so for me it's even more interesting, it's small and no connection needed. I've made some requests for more info at Race-Technology, and told me, I quote "The entire unit weighs less than 200g and a small amount of blu-tak holds the unit very firmly to the dashboard. It doesn't move. There is no need for fancy bracketry. I am convinced that a meter mounted on the dashboard with blu-tak will move less than a heavier meter mounted on an adjustable mount stuck onto the windscreen with suction cups."
I hope this can help you and have a look at this comparision.
Comparison: AC22 with G-Tech pro and Vericom 2000
By the way, the new Power Meter I-D from Blitz is not bad either but costs more, less functions and no computer connection.
That's all I can say...for now!! :sigh:

I e-mailed Race_Tech and they said they are indeed working on a backlit model. No USB in the future as they said a dump takes like 10 seconds, but they do have a source for USB>Serial converters.
I'm going to wait a couple of months before I order one.

Yeah, it would be great with USB but no matter I'll buy a serial/USB converter, my laptop is USB only. It's not really expensive and I wanted to buy one anyway.
As the backlight, I don't think I'll be missing it since I always test in the daylight. I also do kart racing so it's in daylight too. But I'll check in the meter to put white LED's in it for backlights if it's needed.
