I posted this in 2nd gen, but thought I might get more responses here, so...

Once the turbo boosts up once, the exhaust side stays red hot and doesnt cool down.

Could it be fuel related? This is on a newly ported motor (about 300 miles or so on the motor)

or you go for very long and extended spirited drives and then check when u come home...and its red?

stock turbo?...... i know when i take long boosting drives that when i come home at night the turbine side is bright red....

I'm not entirely sure. You see, this is a car that I am thinking about buying. I asked the guy if it has any problems, and he said yeah there is one problem. I quoted this from his email to me "Once the turbo boosts up once, the exhaust side stays red hot and doesnt cool down." So I am assuming that since he said, once the turbo boosts up once, he means one time. But again I am not sure.

By the way I was just looking at his list of mods, which include upgraded injectors and an N1 catback but no mention of an ecu. Could this be the cause?

Also he has no mention of intake upgrade or downpipe instalation.

Well without the aftermarket ECU to control the injectors the car is probably rich a ****. Without the downpipe the precat is probably cloged due to the excess fuel that is trying to exit through the exhaust. Also the car probably doesn't run right because he has a port and no ecu to control fuel and timing on the motor. If you buy this car I recomend buying an ecu, intake, downpipe, and hiflow main cat/ midpipe. Once you install these take it somewhere respectable and have it tuned.
