Omp Problem
I installed a new OMP on my car (88 N/A). It smoked a little before, but now it really smokes. My guess is that it's not adjusted right. I read the Hanes manual on this one and all it did was confused me. How do I adjust it?
Does it smoke a lot if you take the arm off of the TB? Before you do that I am assuming that when the car is at idle the arm has no pressure on it. I am not sure if this is true because I have never had a mech OMP but I would imagine there is no, or very little, pressure on the arm at idle. If there is no pressure on the arm, if this is how it is designed, than pull the arm off and see if it smokes more than normal. If it does, then there must be some way to adjust it at the OMP, or else it is a bad OMP. If it does not smoke, then there must be some adjustment up at the TB. Bending the arm, moving a bolt, I'm not sure
Dunno if this helped at all.

it can be shimmed for minor adjustment, the rod can also get bent which can screw up the adjustment.
the proper way to gauge the injection is to pull the lines off and measure the amount of oil that comes out over a known period of time, the procedure is documented in the shop manual.
